Two weekends ago, I was driving in heavy rain when the wind suddenly lifted my car and pushed me to the side of the road. As soon as my tires gripped the ground again, I braved the high winds and drove to the closest gas station.
In the distance, I could hear the familiar sound of tornado sirens, and I was terrified. Not because I’d never experienced a tornado before, but because there was NO WARNING about a tornado in the forecast for that day. (We Tennesseans are *usually* prepared for these types of things.)
Anyway, I rushed into the gas station, along with other drivers who were just as stunned.
The rain was falling so fast and hard that we could barely see through it, and we were all exchanging “Is this really happening right now?” looks as the sirens continued to wail.
After about twenty minutes, the sirens died down.
Fifteen minutes after that, the rain decided to slow as well.
Grateful, I called my family and friends to make sure everyone was in the clear, and everyone was, except…
Nicole London’s brother.
As fate would have it, he was helping me and Mister G with our garden that day, and he’d bailed in his car once he heard the sirens and well…

His car ended up in a ditch.
On a positive note, he walked away from this crash without a scratch, and the insurance company + AAA came in handy. (By the way, if you don’t have AAA, please consider getting it, as we were able to have this towed away without an additional charge due to the super affordable yearly membership. 🙂 )
This past weekend was far less eventful weather-wise, and most of my May was spent writing, watering plants with Baby G. (We have tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries that are ripening!), and, oh my goodness, revealing covers for release season!
Now that I’m looking back, I feel like I should’ve taken more pictures, so I’ll correct that for June.

I got to spend Mother’s Day weekend with my Mommy, and Baby G decided to sneak into our picture. <3

I revealed THREE covers, listed one of the books (the spicy and suspenseful one) on pre-order, and also shared the first trailer for Sincerely, or So I Thought Yours. <3

F.L.Y. + Bring on June!
