**Reposting this for myself now that I have *kinda* adjusted to having a new baby & I’m getting back to being myself. I originally posted this in December 2021. <3**
A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across this question in a book, and my entire world stopped.
What Would Your Career Look Like if You Loved It?
If I loved it? Like, woke up every day racing to work out of pure joy? Like, what?
Hmmm…
“Well, it for sure wouldn’t look like it does now,” I admitted. “I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like my career a lot. But love?”
No.
Nah.
Nyet.
So, I opened a notebook and wrote out exactly what I thought a career I loved would look like.
After finishing that vision, I realized that I was currently doing NONE of those things. But instead of drawing up a big plan or a map on how to get there in the future, I just started doing them.
And then I made other huge changes.
Without explanation. Without apologies.
And between you and me, the past two weeks have been the best two weeks of my entire career. (Yes, there have been moments that have been hard & some things I had to do stung a bit at first (par for the course), but I’ve woken up every day with an energy/love I’ve never had before.)
Although the ultimate career I love seems weird, it’s also been beyond fulfilling so far.
Anyway, I encourage you to ask yourself the same question.
And then, be 100% unapologetic about making it a reality.
Until the next cup of tea,
Whitney G.
