If you have no idea what The Indie Tea is, it’s a blog that changed my life.
I started it in 2015 with the goal of creating a positive (yet also honest and transparent) space to discuss all the things that came with being an indie author. There was an every-Monday newsletter, a constant stream of posts on the website, and an open-book approach to promotional plans and sales numbers.
Nicole London, the best BFF ever, helped me mold and shape it into what it became, and some of our best memories were made here. (We still talk about our times there to this day 🙂 )
It’s humbling to look back and see just how many incredible and inspiring indie authors we met through The Indie Tea, and when I think about those times, it makes me want to cry. (Happy tears, of course.)
We learned a great deal about the journeys and dreams of fellow writers. We cheered them on as they strived to reach their goals, and they cheered us on, too. <3
We even hosted a retreat in Charlotte, North Carolina, and had the opportunity to meet many of these women in person. (The album from that weekend is in my ‘Happiest Times in My Life’ folder.)

Now, as the years passed, life changed (as it always does), and I had to press pause on the public side of The Indie Tea a few years ago. But trust me, it’s very much alive.
Behind the scenes, the website is brimming with brand-new posts, honest lessons about mistakes I’ve made (& continue to make), and positivity. I like to say it’s akin to a dormant flower that will bloom again when the proper season arrives.
Alas, at this moment, my focus is on “Whitney G Books” & Whimstery, but I’m looking forward to opening The Indie Tea’s book again soon and writing a new chapter.
In the meantime, I’ll sprinkle some of my favorite memories + share some of my favorite posts (new and old) throughout this year to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.
[OMG…I can’t believe it’s been TEN YEARS!]
Until the next cup of tea,
Whitney G.
P.S. I’m going to re-upload these pretty journals and place them for sale in The F.L.Y. Store soon. These are some of my FAVES <3 < 3<3
