Oooh! A contemporary romance with a Manhattanite hero and a heroine who’s spent most of her life in a small town?
YASSSSS!
Let’s break this story down, shall we? (No spoilers, promise!)

We start by meeting our hero, Harrison Jones. He’s cocky, attractive as hell, and worst of all… he knows it.

He’s never understood the obsession with fairytales—because “they all end the exact same way,” and the couples never seem to have real-life issues after their so-called “happily ever after.”

But ironically, that makes him the perfect guy to run a business that caters to men who want to play into that very illusion.
Scared to break up with your psycho girlfriend?
Call Harrison. He’ll handle it.
Need advice on landing the girl—or want to upgrade your wardrobe from T-shirts and jeans to Tom Ford suits and Italian leather loafers?

It’ll cost you a ridiculous Manhattan price, but Harrison is the guy you want.

ALAS, after a near-disastrous break-up job for a client, he literally crashes into our heroine on a New York street.

Totally her fault… but she blames him. And oh, the sarcasm she dishes out? Bitter. Sexy. Southern.

He can’t focus on her words—partly because she has a deep, sultry drawl and he can only understand half of what she’s saying, and partly because she’s drop-dead gorgeous.
Their meet-cute ends as abruptly (and angrily) as it began, and then we get to meet our heroine in her own words, and on her own turf…

Tennessee-born and raised, Eliza knows she has no business trying to impress Manhattan businessmen. But she screws up the pitch anyway.
She and her brother run Eads River Ranch, the largest luxury resort this side of the South. It was their parents’ legacy, and while Eliza loves running it, she hates dealing with the suits.
After confessing how awful her trip to New York went, she vows to do better next time.
(Little does she know… there may not be a next time. And the ranch isn’t as successful as she thinks it is.)

Cut to Harrison receiving a late-night phone call from Eliza’s brother, cashing in on a huge favor from years ago.
Harrison agrees to fly to Tennessee to talk it over—and after some intense enemies-to-lovers banter, he’s in.
But Eliza? She’s not so easily convinced.

Eventually, they board a flight back to NYC, and that’s when the real fun begins.
(Fun for us, not them.)

Harrison buys her first designer dress and a pair of Christian Louboutin heels and commands her to walk in them.
“Now?”
“Right now.” He leans back in his chair. “Show me how you’d walk into a room where every man was waiting for you…”
And well…

She’s a total disaster. It’s obvious he should quit, but Harrison sucks it up. He owes her brother, big time.
This will be okay… right?

*Skipping over a few juicy spoilers…*
Eliza struggles through city life, Harrison’s brutal communication critiques, and a full-blown makeover squad.

She starts to look the part, but there’s still something missing—and Harrison knows exactly what it is.
She’s not owning her sex appeal. Not yet.
And his training methods? Let’s just say they’re a bit… questionable.

But the more time they spend together, the more obvious it becomes…

The attraction is mutual.
The tension? Electric.
And the fantasies they’re secretly indulging in? Getting bolder by the day.

Throw in a jealousy-fueled event, some surprise drama with Harrison’s estranged family, and the tension finally snaps.

The intimacy builds. The heat rises.

And the man who doesn’t believe in fairytales suddenly feels something strange in his chest…
While the woman who swore she’d never trust a man in a designer suit? She’s catching serious feelings.

But this arrangement is only meant to be temporary.
The big test comes at the agricultural convention (the entire reason why her brother called in Harrison) —where Eliza must land enough deals to save her family’s legacy.
And Harrison? He’s supposed to walk away when the deal is done, just like he tells his clients…

Because true love doesn’t exist.
And happily ever afters?
Total fiction….Or are they?

Okay, that’s all you’re getting!
This story is packed with hilarious banter, scenes that’ll make you go “Did he really just do THAT?” and spicy moments.
(Harrison’s reason for owing Eliza’s brother? Yep, that one made me cry, and I hope it hits you just as hard when you read it.)
